On Sept 12 2010 Dc4B visited the Bisley Bowmen for a fantastic afternoon. Mike and his son from Bisley Bowmen brought along an astonishing amount of equipment for us to see and use. They gave us a history of archery and showed us an array of different bows and arrow used through the ages. We were split into two groups to try our hand at archery with recurve bows and also at firing a crossbow.
We finished the afternoon with some more hands-on but this time with reproduction medieval armour and a balista, trebuchet and catapult that our hosts had built.
